"This week is going to be super intense. It already has been and it's the first two days. On Monday we spent 6 hours at the Union Gospel Mission and we just hung out with the homeless people, served them food, sorted used clothing and cleaned up after everything was finished with. Then we headed to Street Church which in on Hastings. . . we got a couple hours to practice singing and finally we got everything right. Then it was time for the actual service (which we led)... we sang some songs and then I gave my testimony and then sang some more and then Zoe (tennesse), Ryan (Winnipeg) and Chris preached on Peace (Zoe), Freedom (Ryan) and Hope (Chris).... Chris is seriously one little preacher. Everyone thought that he was awesome and when he went up there, even before he started speaking some people around me were saying, like "there's something awesome in him" and stuff.

So then today we had a prayer walk around Vancouver. We got into teams of 3 or 4 and then prayed for a certain topic. Mine was government. So we walked up to government buildings and prayed in them and around them and then went back to the base to talk about it. It was nice to get to walk around and see those places. Anyway now Chris and I and some others are going to Chili Wagon like we do every Tuesday. Before we got to the library (where I am right now), I told a lady on the drive about Chili Wagon cause she was hungry so hopefully she'll show up.

Oh and before I go, I'll tell you a little bit about what we are doing tomorrow. We go the the base at around 8:30am and dress really scrubby and then we are stripped of money and have to go around begging people for money like we are real street people. It's going to be so weird. Asking people for money. We have to go to soup kitchens for food cause they aren't feeding us and then we have to beg for money. Chris and I are trying to think of a good sign to put up. Pray for us that God will just show himself to us in these experiences."

"Well we've been living in Vancouver for a little over 2 weeks now and we are having an awesome time.
We have no car so we're finally going to get in shape, seeing as our houses are both 20 minutes away
from the YWAM base and 20 minutes away from each other. We get new speakers each week who
teach on one topic for 5 days. It's really intense! There are no computers so all our assignments have
to be done by hand!

Our DTS group of students is the smallest that they've seen in a long time (only 11 people) but it's good
that way because you get to know everyone so much better. Chris and I are the only ones that are from
BC but there are other Canadians ranging from the cheese farms of Edmonton, the potato farms of
Manitoba and from fashionable Ottawa. Other students are from Washington, DC, Tennessee, Mississippi,
France, and Korea. Our leaders are from Australia, England, Canada and the US. We're definitely coming
home with the weirdest accent that you have ever heard.

The community outreach that Chris and I are involved in is called the "Chili Wagon." Every Tuesday
night a big truck pulls up to the Park and serves chili and hot chocolate to anyone who is hungry. We
are enjoying talking one-on-one with the people there.

Back at the dorm our meals are cooked by a rather humorous chef who is trained in the culinary arts.
Some of the kids have brought their guitars and bongos. We have intercessory prayer every day and
already have answers - very exciting!"
