First
of all, a huge THANK YOU to the congregation for
their support!! It was much more than we expected!
We
arrived safely in Joburg yesterday morning and have
settled into the house we are housesitting. Today we
are having a bit of an introduction to the missions
projects here and getting a feel for the place. Chris
has undertaken the driving of our little borrowed car
and she's doing great on the left hand side of the road!
We're still unsure about accommodation and transpor-
tation after Sept. 28 but we're confident that God will
provide, as He has so perfectly so far!
We have limited email access but we're planning on
sending updates as we can! It's such an encourage-
ment to know we have you all behind us when we're
so far away from home.
love in Christ,
Mariko,

This
is one of the HUGHEST cities I've ever seen! It
just keeps going and going. There are 2 downtowns:
Johannesburg and Sandton but no one goes to
Jo'burg because it's been overridden with crime...but
it's still on all the postcards!
It's
amazing how flat it is. When the sun sets you
can see the orange horizon stretch out in every
direction, not quite like Saskatchewan, but close!
So
far, working at the orphanage has been
exhausting but worth it! So many cute babies! I'll try
not to come home with too many.
It's
only been a week so we haven't had much time
to do any site-seeing yet but we're hoping to get up
to Kruger National Park before Katt leaves so that we
can see all the wild animals. Dont' worry Mom, I'll stay
in the Jeep!
