We greet you all in the wonderful name of Jesus. It has been an exciting few weeks of school as we swing into the third term. When I arrived home I was nearly trampled to death by 15 ecstatic students to a warm and wonderful welcome party. Also, on my birthday, August 4th, Elizabeth and my class planned a surprise party for me. It was very precious, the students were so eager to surprise their teacher. However, our term has not been all fun. Already this term one of Elizabeths students, Osuliwe, has lost his mother. He is the third child to be orphaned this year. His only surviving relative, a grandmother who is too old to even care for herself, is now caring for Osuliwe. Furthermore, this past week Osuliwe was involved in a car accident that injured one student in Grade six, and sent Osuliwe to hospital with a head injury. The extent of that injury is still unknown. This year there has been a plethora of accidents and fatalities that have affected the student body. Please pray for safety for our students; pray that Gods hand of protection would be over each and every student and their families, especially as they travel to and from school. Elizabeth and I are praying for next year. We both feel that God is calling us to be here another year and that he will provide the necessary funds. Since July 31st, we have not been covered by our health insurance. The money needed for that never came through and we are continuing to trust God for that. We need to apply for a South African Visa renewal but before we are able to do that we need to purchase our plane tickets and health insurance. We trust that God knows what he is doing. Elizabeth has begun reading a book titled: "Lord do you know what you are doing?" by Carol Lee Anderson. It is a story of a missionary wife who encountered all the same obstacles as we are. It has been a great encouragement for both of us to see how God was walking with them every step, even through the dark and uncertain times. Please continue to pray for our finances. If you feel led to give please e-mail us at vdcs@iafrica.com. In
